More daily doodles

Thursday, February 15th, 2007

I haven’t blogged the past few days but that doesn’t mean I forgot to do some art every day! ;)

689 Lines & Circles
As you can see, my doodles have become more elaborate. That’s what happens when you don’t have any power in the house (no internet *gasp*).

And as I promised earlier, a Valentine’s Day special!
Happy Valentine's Day!
although I’m a day late.. -_-;;

Doodle 2007.02.07

Thursday, February 8th, 2007

I didn’t feel like doing the same kind of things.. Actually, I didn’t want to do anything. But I knew I had to go on, keep strong. So, I decided to try something I’ve always been thinking of doing. Drawing directly on my Polaroids! I have plenty of sucky ones, the ones I will never dare show you naked. So why not do something with them?

RIP
This is my tribute to the little pot, which I basically killed, because I forgot to water it. T_T

One of my very early Polaroid shots.. failed shot becomes a great canvas for me!

Bloop bloop
If you look very closely, there’s a BART train on the hill.. it’s travelling underwater! Bloop bloop..

I will admit, I felt like a five-year old drawing on the polaroids. Lots of giggling and laughing. It was so much fun!

There’s actually one more I did but I will show you on Valentine’s Day. ^_^;;

I got my ears pierced!

Monday, December 4th, 2006

Yes! After some time wondering whether I should get them pierced, I finally decided to. Actually, I made that decision on a whim, when I happen to walk by the piercing parlor recommended by a friend of mine. I thought, if I don’t do it now, I’ll never get them done. ^_^;; The piercing didn’t take that long, and it wasn’t painful at all.
Here’s me, waiting for my turn!
I look a little timid, don’t I?
Waiting

And this is my ear before I got them pierced. Never again!

記念で、ピアス前の耳です。^_^;;

Hopefully, they heal without much trouble..
I can’t wait to change these surgical-steel earrings to prettier ones! Hmm, I actually have two pairs of earrings that are waiting to get used. :D

Thanks to George, I got sucked into Polaroids and bought a Minolta Instant Pro on eBay. What do you think?
ジョージという友達のおかげで ポラロイドにすごく気に入って、ebayでカメラを買ってしまうことになりました。どう思います。
happy focus
I am very happy with the above one.. Thanks for letting me use the close-up kit, George!
この上のほうが今までのベストと思いますけど..

Ah, you may be wondering, what’s with the Japanese text? Well, I decided to practice my Japanese as well as expand my audience. By one person. Hopefully more. We shall see how well this goes.
これからは 時々本語で書こうと思っていますので、どうぞよろしくお願いします。
いい練習になるかも知れませんから、私、頑張ります!
あ、どこか、間違ってることがあったらぜひ教えてくださいね〜

Flowers around the house

Saturday, May 6th, 2006

I used to think real flowers are such a waste of money.. I mean, they will eventually die and you have to throw them away, right? But ever since I moved out here, I think differently about them. They’re so pretty and perfect for decorating the house. And they make me feel better. Maybe I’ve become more selfish..The flowers will die just to make me feel better! mwahaha.. -_-;; Don’t blame me. I’m still recovering from a very tenacious cold.

Here are some photos of the flowers I have around the house.

(Can you see my Utada Hikaru poster in the background?)

Those frames have pictures of my family, including our boston terrier. ^^

The yellow flowers are lasting quite well. I may get more of those later.
By the way, yesterday at work, a girl told me that I don’t sound like I’m from Chicago. What does that mean? Do people in Chicago have an accent?? *shrug*

Dreaming of sunshine..

Tuesday, March 28th, 2006

The weather here in San Francisco has been sucky. Wet. Gloomy.
Has the spring not begun? Why does the sun tease us so much?
I’d like to wear my spring clothes.. :(

Beautiful Winter Day

Monday, December 12th, 2005

The day after the storm was such a beautiful day. Freezing cold but still very calm and sunny. Snow can be quite beautiful, you know.. Here are some pictures I took while taking a walk.
still life
This is a branch of a tree with lots of fruits I don’t know the name of. I took this under the branch looking up at the sky.

A walk to the lake
Look! Somebody crossed this spotless snow field to go to the lake. Sad, they planted a tree to block the pathway. Apparently it doesn’t stop everyone. ^^

I Love You
Heh.. I wonder who wrote this. It wasn’t me~

Russian Hill

Tuesday, November 15th, 2005

On last Sunday, Matt and I walked around the Russian Hill.. We wanted to do the little walk suggested in Stairway Walks in San Francisco but since the sun sets so early these days, we only had 2 hours to take pictures with decent amount of light.
Buds
But it was still a fun walk.. I especially liked walking on the Macondray Lane. It was a very private residential area, and I almost missed the entrance to it. I could see through the windows that people living there had amazing views of the city. We didn’t finish the whole walk because it was getting too dark, and we wanted to stay closer to Polk St, where our dinner reservation was at Tablespoon. But we got to see the sunset! It was very colorful~
Sunset
On the way down to Polk St, we saw lots of nice looking restaurants, including a sushi restaurant called Okoze. It looked very nice, all fancy and modern. Could it be another case of ’style over substance,’ like Tablespoon turned out to be? I guess we’ll just have to find out.
To kill some time, we stopped by a tea place called Teavana. Matt had To Life blend tea and I had a cup of chilled Scarlet Cloud. They were both very good. Here is me reading their catalog:

Next time, we’ll start the day early and finish the walk. ^_^

Katamari Release Party pictures

Friday, October 14th, 2005

Finally, I uploaded some pictures from our Katamari release party. They are found here. (The page is password-protected. If I know you and I haven’t sent you the password, then email me). The party was a success, I think. Even Vijay showed up! Woot!
The new game was as fun as the first game, and we unlocked lots of stages, except after hours of playing, we turned off the machine without saving it.. Doh! But all’s well now. I even beat the game! But there are still few more cousins to find, and, of course, the King of All Cosmos isn’t too impressed with the stars I created. Must work even harder to impressive the King!
Anyway, I was particularly happy that people enjoyed the katamari cakes I prepared.
Ichigo-chan Cake Prince Cake
I had a blast making them too, even though my initial plan of making the whole body failed due to lack of structure. It was my first time icing, too. It was a little challenging at first, but all that matters is I had fun.
And check out the cup markers!
Katamari Cousins Cup Markers
Aren’t they cute? ^^

Am I a katamari fanantic? Proudly so.
