the queen of Lumines, that is.
My current score for the 60-second time trial is 105. Oh yeah!
I don’t know why but lately, I’ve been having huge craving for new shoes. I never did before, so this is very strange to me. First of all, I want black boots. Plain, basic black boots that will go with everything in my closet. This is not very easy to find, though. I still haven’t seen a single pair that I like in a store.
Here’s a brown pair of boots from Miss Sixty I like a lot.

I’m not that crazy about the western style that’s all the rage nowadays but this pair is all right.
I also want some comfortable, flat shoes, like this one:

These are on back-order at Urbanoutffiters.com right now. ![]()
I guess I won’t find out how comfortable they’ll be until I wear them. But style-wise, I think they’ll be perfect for my work, which requires me to wear only black/white. Such a dumb dress code.
And then there are the Onitsuka Tiger that I’ve been wanting for about last three years. I’ve been planning to get the white/blue ones until I saw the birch/green ones. Here it is:

I actually got them recently.. and they arrived yesterday in the mail. Yay! They are everything I expected. Stylish and comfortable. And I love the color combination. Awesome.
And last but not least, I would like a pair of these Birkenstock sandals:

I think they’ll be perfect with any summer skirt. The Manolo, I wonder what he thinks about these sandals..
Finally, my latest sketchbook entry!
Here it is:

It’s an inspiration I got from wyolica’s music video for Sparkle, so it’s not completely original, I’m afraid to say. It’s from their lyrics “どんなに泣いたって かまわないのさ いつしか涙は強さに変わるよ,” roughly translated “don’t care how much you cry ’cause your tears will help you become strong (literally, your tears will become your strength).” I know it’s cheesy but I still like it. Inspirations, wherever they come from, are all valuable.
For the clouds, I used some sample papers from Fox River Paper, Queen Moss (right cloud) and Hickory (left cloud). I think I like cutting papers a lot. ^^;; The flowers are, again, from various clothing catalogs.
This is one of those ideas that lingers on in my head. I think this was just a mere exercise in expressing the words and in making cut-out shapes (again). I’ll have to further explore this concept.. maybe as a big painting.. Hm..
I don’t usually drink soda (or pop) drinks but I do like drinking Ramune, which is a Japanese carbonated drink in a glass bottle with a marble inside. It’s kinda sweet and has a distinctive flavor. So yesterday, Austin and I did some mad experiments in creating drinks with this Ramune. It was one of those random thoughts that we had to try. Austin was Pinky and I was the Brain. Here were our ‘test tubes.’ Too bad we didn’t have any white lab coats.
A. Ramune with gin
B. Ramune with vodka
C. Ramune with rum and Triple Sec
D. Ramune with Bacardi 151.
We mixed these different solutions with a stirrer, carefully rinsing it between each stir, so as not to contaminate the test samples. Here are the results:
A and D were just plain nasty. Blech.
B actually turned out all right.. tolerable but not my favorite. I had high hopes for C because I like fruity drinks, and I was not disappointed, except it needed few adjustments. After adding some splash of orange juice and some sweet & sour mix (thanks to Richa who suggested this), it tasted much better. Then I, the Brain, pondered some more and added real tangerine pieces into the drink. The result was fantastic, and we named the drink The Brain. Brilliant, brilliant, I say!
But wait, there’s more. Pinky was pondering what I was pondering. We found more ingredients to experiment with. Like cranberry juice and Lindemans Framboise (a Belgian lambic). We could not let these golden opportunities go to waste. These ingredients were added to The Brain, and the result was a sweeter and, well.. pinkier, drink we named Pinky.
I have to say, our experiment went very well, well enough to try to take over the world!
Hello, world!
Thanks to Richa, I now have my very own custom template. She did all the coding and layout for me. Isn’t that awesome? 3q very much, Richa! ^_^
