Young-Hae Chang

Tuesday, October 31st, 2006

OMG, my eyes are hurting after reading some stories (presented in Flash) at this interesting website:
Young-Hae Chang Heavy Industries Presents
Big letters, flashing backgrounds, hip music, written in several different languages including Korean and Japanese.. they’re almost too much.. I love it. I just read this one and this one.. pretty interesting.
I have to warn you, though, read them when you have the time. If you are sensitive to light, do not click on the links.

Hoot Hoot

Tuesday, October 31st, 2006

As you read in my previous post, I am currently obsessed (?) with all things owl. And as I look around the various online clothing and interior goods stores, I am not the only one. What is it with owls that make them so charming? Is it because of their big, quiet eyes? I don’t know. All I know is that I always liked them. I’m just finding more things with owls on them now. *cough*
Like this awesome t-shirt from Fabric8. If you look closely, you can see more owls inside the owl!

How about this little guy from Papyrus:
Owl Trinket
This egg-shaped owl is a trinket box and you can store tiny treasures inside. Isn’t it cute?? Hoot!

And I love these owls by Blake Lemons. You have to click on the link because you can’t go wrong with 84 owls. I wonder if he’s selling them? (link via Drawn!)

Shopping Update #4

Tuesday, October 24th, 2006

It’s time for a shopping update, folks!
While looking for some home decor products at Anthropologie, I picked up these owl teapots and cups:
Owl tea set
Aren’t they the cutest things? As soon as I saw them, I had to have them. I don’t know, I have this thing for owls these days. I drink out of these all the time. ^_^;;

And I got some CDs! It’s been months since I bought any new CDs, and today I finally received one of three CDs I ordered. It is the original soundtrack to The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, and I’m loving it. It comes with two CDs, the first has 73 tracks and the second 60. Crazy, huh. They have everything from menu music to game over music. Awesome. I’m so glad I can automatically get track names from the internet. Otherwise, I’ll have to translate 133 tracks names all Japanese. @_@ Anyway, I really like the music. Not just because it’s the soundtrack to my favorite game of all time. It’s simple yet complex. Good choice of instruments and each of their characteristics is used to the fullest. But nothing is overdone. Hm.. How do I explain the sounds I hear? I guess you’ll just have to give it a try.

So there you have it! I’ve been doing lots of shopping lately because of the new apartment and all that but I’ve been lazy. Tune in for another update soon, for the other two CDs will be arriving very soon, I hope. I’ll tell you what they are then. :)

What Have You Done For Me Lately?

I love letterpress cards. They’ve become so popular these days.. At first, I loved anything letterpressed. They were cool and new. But now, I’m a lot pickier.. I’m beginning to get tired of all these card companies that just use patterns and fancy fonts for their designs. After awhile, they just get boring. But I found these bittersweet cards from Paper Stories quite refreshing. My favorite is Thanks For Nothing card:

Thanks for Nothing

The idea of using decorative motifs with text as the main design of a card is nothing new but at least these are very bold, and I love the irony of the messages. I wonder, would I ever bother spending such money on someone I don’t like?? Hm..
